The safest materials for belly button rings are gold (at least 14K), silver, surgical steel, titanium, niobium, rhodium etc. While at a lower cost to you avoid gold imitation and silver plated ones because they are easily tarnished and corrode when they get into contact with water and other fluids. These rings can also break easily so it is not a sound investment.
